About GMRS

The General Mobile Radio Service (GMRS) is a land-mobile FM UHF radio service designed for long-distance two-way communication compared with FRS. GMRS shares some channels with FRS, but GMRS offers more power, range and versatility than lower power FRS radios. GMRS radios are available in portable handheld models at up to 5 watt and mobile/base station models at up to 50 watts of power. With the frequency range 462-467MHZ.
