Tested in a rural area with lots of trees and lots of rolling hills up to 800 feet high. I like retevis. it. It feels sturdier and has longer battery life. Rated standby/limited use time is 10 days. The range is also good. In my house I can get a good signal with two radios to a metal building 600 yards away. Maximum transmission distance from inside the house to the car, across hills, etc. is about 1-1.5 miles depending on how far behind the hill I am. I'm sure I could easily get 1.5 miles if both radios were outside the house. On flat land, 2-3 miles is probably a reasonable expectation.
